Friday, 30th January 04, 6.07pm

Its all over! An Official Club Statement claims that the petition has been pulled by the store, and meetings arranged for next week between transports consultants to talk about any concerns the store may have. It may not have lasted long, but it was effective, and has now opened the way for talks between the two parties.

Friday, 30th January 04, 2.42pm

The logo, 'Albion Supporters Dump Asda' was added to the top of North Stand Chat, giving fans and visitors to the site a direct link to the boycott website.

The www.asda.org.uk site is now available to visitors going to that address. It links directly to the website set up by fans containing information about the boycott. This will be passed on when contacting any members of the press about the story.

Representations about the proposed Carden Avenue Park & Ride must be with the City Council no later than 2nd February, reports 'Lord Bracknell' on the NSC boycott forum. To contact the council about this matter, and show you support the road closure on match days, email peter.bloxham@brighton-hove.gov.uk. See URGENT - Defeat ASDA - E-mail the City Council Before Monday for more information.

Friday, 30th January 04, 6.40am

Fans work late into the night to make sure of the success of the boycott. 'London Irish' reports that the first edition of today's Argus has run the story on page 2, giving a link to NSC for more information.

'Raphael Mead' is getting busy with the boycott, and is soon onto another national paper, The Daily Mirror. He reports that they were also interested in the story, and will look into it.

Thursday, 29th January 04, 6.54pm

Getting national coverage of the boycott? 'Raphael Mead' gets in contact with The Sun newspaper, and gives the report on the other end a brief explanation along with the website address, and they say they will look into it. Would they have a story about it in the paper?

Thursday, 29th January 04, 6.36pm

The website is just about ready, apart from a little tweaking to get it perfect. The word about the boycott is slowly spreading, and some football sites are picking up the story. Flying High adds the story to the homepage, while 'BHA Links' and 'NewsNow' also added stories.

Thursday, 29th January 04, 4.33pm

The first reply from Asda reports 'Yorkie', however it is just a standard message that most fans will probably receive regarding the matter over the next couple of days.

Thursday, 29th January 04, 2.57pm

The idea of spreading the message to other fans from clubs around the country is getting underway. The website is still in production, and acronyms and logos are being designed by fans.

Thursday, 29th January 04, 1.35pm

The website is underway, and 'Bozza' suggests making a catchy acronym. Something like 'Albion Supporters Desert Asda'. There are many other suggestions from other fans, such as 'Hilton's' idea, Albion Say Death to Asda!

'Westdene Seagulls' suggests setting up a website to let everyone know about the boycott. The address www.asdas.co.uk is suggested, but not available, so www.asda.org.uk is the next idea. By 1.31pm, the domain is registered and ready for action. It will be available to visitors by Friday.

Wednesday, 28th January 04, 6.03pm

The first call for an Asda Boycott was made by 'Dunkstar' replying to the previous post about the petition.

Wednesday, 28th January 04, 5.59PM

'Deadly Danson', a member of North Stand Chat, posted a message about his trip to his local Asda store in Hollingbury. They were setting up a petition to stop the council closing Carden Avenue when we play at home with the new seats. He told of the petition being announced over the tannoy of the store to get customers to sign the petition on their way out. Without this new park and ride for home games, we will not be able to use the new allocation of seats when we get them.

View expressed are not those of the site. Names shown are username from North Stand Chat, where the boycott is being organised. Visit www.northstandchat.biz for more information. Please contact us regarding the matter for more information.
