What does this
information tell us?
The number of unique
visitors has actually now levelled out. It is slightly
lower than last month, however this can be expected as
many fans will be away on holiday and returning to work,
and might not have the time to visit the site during
these busy periods. The number of visits has also
slightly decreased, however this is not worrying becuase
we still have a high number of pages viewed - a massive
11,843!
Busiest Day:
The 8th August saw the
most visitors to the site this month - they came to see
our Derby match report and pictures, the first game of
the season. We also expect that a number of Derby fans
visited the site to see the report, and this increased
the number of visitors for that day. The average number
of visits each day however was only 148.
Busiest Time:
Unlike other months,
August has seen a very clear pattern for the busiest
period. From 8am, the number of visitors slowly
increases gradually until it peaks at 1pm - almost 1000
pages were viewed at this time. The number of pages then
slowly decreases and levels off at around 6pm. At around
midnight, the number of pages viewed then decreases
again slightly and levels off again until 8am the next
day.
Where is everyone
from:
This month sees the
introduction of a new section, which allows us to see
where all the visitors are from. Although not fully
operational until September, we can see fans are
visiting the site from all over the world - literally!
Obviously, the most visitors reside in the United
Kingdom, however here are some other countries that fans
who have visited us live: Poland, Australia, Denmark,
Netherlands, France, Canada, Finland, Israel, Japan,
Greece, Gibraltar, Germany, Turkey and Thailand. What an
amazing mix. We hope to increase the number of countries
next month when we will be able to carry out a more
accurate analysis.
Average Time Spent On
The Site:
Last month fans were
spending just under 10 minutes on the site at a time -
this month we see an increase to just over ten minutes!
Although not a massive achievement, the number of fans
staying on the site longer is slowly increasing - see
the table below for more information.

Most Popular Page:
As we mentioned
earlier in the 'busiest day' section, the most popular
page this month has been our Derby match report and
pictures with almost 400 views. Also with news of Falmer
on everyones minds as we come closer to the deadline,
the Falmer Announcements page has also seen 318 visits.
Despite playing
Plymouth only just before the end of the month, the
number of views for the two reports by our guest writers
Nick Turrell and Thimble Keegan for this match was well
over the 200 mark for both.
Searching For Flying
High:
Flying High Fact: You
can now search the website using the new search box down
the left had side of the homepage!
Once again, far out in
front the term used the most to find Flying High was
'Federico Turienzo'. Although the use of BHAFC is
forwarding more and more people to the site, specific
terms are still the most common way of finding use on a
search engine. Some phrases that have been used by fans
this month to find us include 'Jake Robinson Football',
'Perry Digweed', 'Falmer Stunt' and 'McCammon'.
Google once again was
the most popular search engine used, although we have
seen the use of others such as MSN, AOL and Yahoo having
an increased use. One interesting fact is that Voila,
the English to French translation website used by fans
of Le Havre is still being used to read pages from
Flying High!
The most popular
external website to link to Flying High this month is
the message boards used by the 'Rivals' network. Before
and after each match fans normally post a message about
one of our previews or reports which interest fans from
the opposite team as they want to know what we're
thinking!
As mentioned earlier,
the Plymouth reports were well read once released. One
of the top referrers was PASOTI (Plymouth Argyle
Supporters On The Internet). One of their fans posted
two links, one to each of the match reports from their
game. In particular, they asked Plymouth fans to
concentrate on paragraph 3 from Thimble Keegans report.
This read "Now,
if things were beginning to gel against the Lilywhites
on Saturday then they certainly clicked into gear today.
But as well as we played we should not take anything
away from Plymouth's part in proceedings...They were
bloody rubbish to put it simply. There have been
rumblings of discontent coming out of Home Park and that
would have been turned up a notch or 2 as they failed to
beat a 10 man Hull City team on Saturday and at home."
North Stand Chat and
Brightonfans were also both top referrers this month
