It
hasn't been a busy two weeks - in fact the website has
been extremely quiet with no updates at all this month
until today!
However, its on to Leeds we travel
(Travel zone is online is you are looking for
information). After winning 2-0 against an extremely
poor Plymouth, McGhee is hoping the two week break has
been enough time for the players to prepare themselves
for the game, while also having important time to rest.
McGhee is expected to throw everything he
has at the Leeds team, warning them
that their defence will face a 'severe work-out from his
strikers'. McGhee said in an earlier interview with the
official site "Our strength is up front. We've got Jake
Robinson, Leon Knight and Sebastian Carole. Seb can do
more damage against their back four than they can do
against ours."
So, on that note can we
expect a confident Albion side to take control of the
game to bring home three points? It would be nice,
however Leeds are not going to give us an easy ride.
They haven't lost at home so far this season, winning
against Millwall and Wolves scoring two goals both
times.
Jason Dodd has been ruled
out for six weeks after picking up an ankle injury.
Leeds will be the first game he is missing. New signing
Alexandre Frutos from French side Metz could be making
his debut at Elland Road. He played in the reserves game
earlier in the week, which saw the team lose 2-0 to
Reading reserves.
Leeds David Healy does not
yet have a definite starting place in the squad on
Saturday, after his part in the England/Ireland
Internation saw England lose 1-0. Leeds manager
Blackwell says he will make a decision if he is ready to
return to the team depending on what he sees in
training. Healy is currently the clubs top scorer
despite not scoring since the first game of the season.
Rob Hulse showed good form last season, and is back also
as one of the top scorers to watch out for on Saturday.
He has scored in the last two games against Norwich and
Wolves - both times Leeds won!
Dan Harding has also sent a
warning to his team mates at Leeds not to underestimate
us. He told their official website "There have been a
few changes during the summer and they're doing quite
well at the moment. I think a few teams will believe
they are going to sit back and defend, but they could
surprise a few teams this year because they'll come out
and attack teams more than they did last year. I wont
talk to them on the pitch but off it I'm sure we'll have
a few words with each other afterwards."
Earlier in the week, McGhee
said that the team were heading for relegation.
He said: "The
current table is false. I do a little graph where I map
out where we need to be at the moment, but we're well
below the safety line of 46 points. At the moment we're
heading for relegation. Once we're above that line I'll
be happier." He went on to say he wasn't afraid of our
next two games at Leeds and Sheffield - so lets see some
action, and some points!
