were eagerly awaiting the release of tickets for the Kerry Mayo
testimonial after news that Peter Ward and Bobby Zamora would be
featuring - however... latest news is that it has been put on hold -
until July 2006! Robert Leicester
Zamora, a member of NSC organising the event has today announced:
"After a meeting tonight it
has been decided to re-schedule the testimonial for July 2006 as
part of the pre-season.
It is anticipated that Wardy and Zamora will still feature.
The reason for the re-schedule was for a number of reasons,
including the availability of opposition (Sept 2nd was international
weekend and we wanted stars!), plus in July 2006 there will be 9000
seats available therefore providing additional fund raising
opportunities for Kerry.
There is still a programme of testimonial events planned throughout
the next 12 months, the first of which will be a Boxing night at
Hove Town Hall on October 6th.
A testimonial brochure will also be available and will go on sale at
the end of this month."
A disappointing announcement in the
short term, however an even better testimonial to look forward to in
time for next season!
