It
has been revealed that Dan Harding could be leaving the Albion by the end
of the month. After months without signing a new contract, McGhee has now
valued the player at up to £2m.
Last month, Dick Knight was refusing to change
the terms of Harding's offer for a new contract - it now seems he has
signed a three year deal at Elland Road. He was supposed to be on a family
holiday in Orlando, however he shortened this returning for a medical.
Dan's contract expires at the end of this
month, and Leeds are expected to offer around £250,000. Despite the fact
his contract is almost over, Leeds will have to pay a compensation fee,
because the player is under the age of 24.
McGhee says
"He has been at the club a long time, he's an
England under-21 player and a lad with enormous potential and a big
future." Despite that, he is not happy with the way the deal was done, and
could take the matter to a transfer tribunal.
McGhee has made his feelings clear about the
matter, saying he has had no contact from the club's manager [Leeds], and
is disappointed that he has also had no contact from Harding himself, who
has been treated well during his time at the club.
Harding has been with the club since he was
only 14 years old, however he now believes that moving to Leeds is the
right thing to do.
