Club Facts

Le
Havre is France's biggest ocean port, 125 miles west of Paris.
Le Havre formed in 1872 as a general football club, however
files that confirm this were destroyed in the second world war. They
became a professional club in 1894. Their current colours, sky and marine,
were adopted in 1891 in a homage to the universities of Oxford and
Cambridge.
Le Havre, nicknamed The HAC, went down to Division One in
2000 after 9 consecutive seasons in this league. After two seasons, they
managed to return to Division One, however this was short lived and they
soon went back down.
The HAC play at 16,000 seater Deschaseaux Stadium located
in Le Havre, however they are currently looking to build a new stadium.
They believe that there is no interest in renovating their current ground,
which is shown in the picture below.

Official Site ~~
Due to maintenance taking place at their ground, the
game is now being played at Gonfreville L'Orcher.
Did you know... The town of Le Havre has over 190,000
inhabitants.
Food & Drink
[Top]
The
town of Le Havre has loads of restaurants to suit most tastes - if you are on a
tight budget, you can get a meal from just 5 Euros - that's under £3.50!
However, if you are looking for something more expensive and luxurious, there
are also a number of restaurants offering excellent food and service so you can
wine and dine all night!
When out spending, remember that £1 is roughly the same as
around 1.5 Euros, however the exchange rate will differ and we cannot
comment on the exact price for our visit.

To
get to Le Havre, you will first need to get your self over to France! Many fans
are getting a ferry from Dover to Calais. Le Havre is around 3 hours from this
point.
When you leave the ferry, ensure you continue onto Rocade
Est, joining the A216 after around 3.5 miles. Continue onto the A16
(Please Note, a toll operates on this road, and you will be charged for
using this road) and follow this road for almost 100 miles. At junction
23, leave the A16 to join the A28 - you should start to notice signs for
Le Havre.
After 45 miles, join the A29 where you will head into Le
Havre. Leave at junction 5 after just 2.5 miles, and join the A131. After
another short burst on this road, join the N282 - congratulations - you
are now in Le Havre!
If you head onto the N15 at the end of the A131 you will
head into the centre of town. Rue de Verden and Avenue Jean Jaurés go past
the ground from the N15.
We have estimated the total journey from Brighton at 307
miles. We recommend taking regular breaks!
To get to the match, join the N15 towards Paris for
3 miles, before joining Avenue De Mayville where you should join the N182
almost immediately. After about a mile, join the D982 and follow the signs
to Gonfreville.
