Club Facts
[Top]
Everyone
loves a visit to Wales, and what better excuse than to go to give Cardiff a
thrashing - football that is!
Ninian
Park, where CCFC play, can hold up to 19,000 fans at any one time. They formed
in 1899 and are known as 'The Bluebirds' playing in blue and white at home, and
red away (sound familiar?).
In
1927 they won the (English) FA Cup taking it out of England. However, they
haven't managed to do it again since with the English clubs keeping a firm grip.
Food & Drink
[Top]
Many
pubs will not admit away fans, and the best idea is probably to go straight into
the ground to get a tea or coffee and a pasty? Otherwise you could go into the
city (we all know where that is after our little trip not so long ago!).

Car Directions
[Top]
Cardiff,
as if you didn't know is in Wales. Driving conditions should be alot easier
compared to our trip there for the Playoffs as there will not be so many fans,
and most of them will not be leaving the country after the game!
Exit
the M4 at junction 33 for Ninian Park. This will take you on to the A4232, where
you should follow the signs to Cardiff, taking the second exit. Stay in the left
hand land to join Leckwith road, where parking is available.
Continue
along this road to the traffic lights and turn right where you will see the
ground on your left.
Train Information
[Top]
The
most popular route is either along the coast or a change at London. Many
services offered by First go through to Gloucester where you could change, or
Wessex offer services from the south where you can change to go on to Cardiff.
At Cardiff you can then change to go to Ninian Park Halt.
This is only a local line, with trains running at regular times.
Grangetown could also be used, and is served by many mainline services
which run through to Penarth or Barry Island.
An early service leaves Brighton and goes direct to Cardiff
on the Wessex service. You should check the availability of tickets, and
ensure you reserve a seat as these services get particularly busy. Wessex
also runs a service direct from Portsmouth Harbour. You can get to
Portsmouth using a service by Southern or South West Trains.
A journey to Cardiff will take in the region of four hours.
Bus, Tram & Underground Information
[Top]
Regular
bus services operate from the bus station. This is located by the train station.
Parking
[Top]
There
is a large car park by the ground offering parking to most fans if you get there
sometime before the game begins! You can access it from Leckwith Road.
