Club Facts                                                                                [Top]

The Britannia Stadium opened in 1997, after they left the Victoria Ground where they had played for 119 years. The capacity is now 28,083, and there is a maximum capacity of 4,800 for away fans.

Food & Drink                                                                            [Top]

The Britannia Stadium is not located in the best of places to get a drink, as there is not a good selection of bars around, and many Stoke supporters are not so friendly to welcome you in and have a chat at their local! For safety reasons, we have been recommended not to give information for any places to drink around the ground.

If you do need a drink, get one on your way in (but don't drink and drive...), or if you are coming from the station, try one of the pubs before you set off to the ground.

And finally, if you just want to get inside the ground, you can grab a beer in a plastic cup when the turnstiles open.

As for food, this is also available within the ground, otherwise try one of the burger vans outside (not immediately outside but hidden down roads slightly further away).

Car Directions                                                                          [Top]

To get to Stoke, use the M6, leaving at Junction 15. Simply continue to drive along this road (A500) and the Britannia Stadium will come into view.

Train Information                                                                     [Top]

The local station is of course Stoke Station, however this will take just as long to walk as it would to park your car in a suitable place (See below!) - Around 20 minutes.

Taxi's are available from outside the station, however if there are lots of fans arriving at the same time, these can easily get used up quickly. You could alternatively get a bus (See below)

Full travel information for this game will be available at least two weeks in advance.

Bus, Tram & Underground Information                                  [Top]

Busses are available from outside the church as you turn right under the railway bridge. When you see the council building, turn left. Busses are available for £1 return to the stadium, and leave from outside the stadium back to the train station immediately after with regular services. Check with the driver for any other questions, and make sure you are going to end up in the right place!

Parking                                                                                    [Top]

Parking is very limited, and parking on the streets runs the risk of getting a ticket or even being clamped as many streets are 'residents only parking'. You can try and get a permit to park in the club car park (before you travel...) otherwise you will have to use one of the alternative car parks around the ground (if your early enough!).

You can try other places like Campbell Road, or even by the old Victoria Ground. However, many places that do allow parking require a good walk to the stadium and back.
